South West Coaches is a privately owned family run company, with high quality vehicles and exceptional value for money. We offer an excellent service in all areas, and have great pride in being one of the largest coach operators in the region.

From a 16 seat mini bus to a 53 seat executive coach, our extensive range of vehicles can cater for any type of journey whether it be private hire, school outing, corporate occasion, European tour or one of our very popular day excursions or holidays.

We also operate local bus services in and around the county, six days a week.

About Us

South West Coaches was created in the year 2000 by merging AG Hulbert & Son and Wakes Services which together have over 50 years experience in the bus and coach industry.

We employ over 80 members of staff and operate a fleet of 70 vehicles from our two depots, the head office being in Wincanton and the tours office in Yeovil. The vehicles are maintained to a high standard, in house, by our team of fully qualified mechanics.

We operate a busy schedule all year round offering our current and future customers the chance to join us on our wide range of day excursions and various holidays throughout the UK and Europe. These are put together in house three times a year and are available in brochure format or on this website.

Whatever your requirements, whether it be an airport run, a trip to the seaside, a wedding day or a holiday, we are here to help things run smoothly.

Excursions

We have been running our popular day excursions for over 10 years now and are confident that you will enjoy our trips whichever and whenever you decide to travel.

Our aim is to give clients both present and future, the type of excursions that will appeal to all. We have some old favourites and are always looking to try something new.

We offer a wide selection of leisure days from relaxing down at the coast to the hustle and bustle of one of the various shopping centres. You can even get the chance of joining us to Cite Europe or Bruges for that all important foreign exchange.

Our experienced and professional staff will make sure that your day goes as smoothly as possible, and of course will be at hand to help with any of your needs.

All in all whether you decide to take in a London show or choose to enjoy the breathtaking scenery through the Wye Valley, or even a gentle day roaming through quaint little villages, we are sure that once you have been on one of our leisure days you will be sure to book again.

Tours

We have been operating tours and mini breaks around the U.K. and abroad for a number of years, and by far the most popular innovation that we have introduced in recent years, is to offer a virtually door to door service. Picking up as near as practically possible to your home in Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire means you don’t have to worry about getting your luggage to the coach, and avoids the additional cost of having to use taxis. By using our small fleet of mini-buses, we are able to keep the pick-up time to a minimum and get you on your tour coach and on your way as soon as possible. This way your holiday starts on the first morning. Once your holiday is over we will collect you again from the coach park and return you home.

All of our tours are on a half board basis and we try to include as many attractions as possible within the stated price.

We try to cater for all tastes in our holidays, from Jersey to Scotland, from Newquay to Switzerland. We keep the most successful tours running and of course customer feedback is an essential part of our business. We like to hear from you regarding how you enjoyed the tour, how good the hotel was, and if there was anything we could have done to make your holiday more worthwhile?

Private Hire

As you may well imagine a lot of our work is based around the private hire sector.

Due to our fleet size and range of vehicles we can cater for any kind of private hire imaginable. From an airport run with six passengers, to a school excursion to one of the many theme parks around the country with over 400 passengers.

We can help organise a trip for a special occasion for instance a wedding anniversary which could include a trip along the coast with lunch on the way home.

The Wedding Day! Who needs all the hassle of how everyone will get to and from the church or home from the reception? Well you won't have to, because we can provide a range of vehicles that will look the part and will save anyone from have to stay off the bubbly for the day.

In the past we have carried out work for various sporting events and clubs as we can cater for transportation of equipment as well as passengers.

Our Coaches

We have a selection of coaches to suite your needs, from 16 to 57 seats, both executive and non executive. Our executive coaches come equipped with air conditioning, dvd/video and wc. All are available for inspection by appointment.
